Booking questions
Why can I only pick certain dates?
Because your date is your postcode area's fixed route day. Our van is in your area on the same day every week, which is how we keep prices down. The dates shown are the next visits to your area.
When do I pay?
When you book. Secure card payment through Stripe is what confirms your collection and holds your slot on the route. Change or cancel by 6pm the evening before and we refund in full, no questions.
What if I am not sure what size load I have?
Pick your best guess, then describe the items in the box underneath. That description is what the crew reads before they set off, so the more you tell us the better we plan. If the crew arrives and the load is smaller than you paid for, we refund the difference; if it is bigger, they quote the difference before loading. Nobody ever pays for space they did not use.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes, 75kg per item. That is a safe lift for a two person crew, and it covers virtually all furniture, mattresses and appliances. A single object heavier than that, a safe, a full size American fridge freezer, a multigym, needs specialist kit, so email us photos first and we will quote it properly rather than have the crew turn up and fail. Pianos are the exception; we move those for a living.
Do I need to do anything to the items before you arrive?
Keep them clean and dry, under cover if you possibly can. Dry goods can be sent for reuse, which is where we want everything to go, and soaked or soiled ones cannot; they also cost more to dispose of. Empty and ideally defrost fridges and freezers, and disconnect appliances from mains and water.
